The stunning landscapes of the Langtang region are a treat for the eyes. Located 202 km away from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, Langtang region has a border with Tibet, Kerong.
The way to this northern remote area goes along the Bhote Koshi River. Tamang peoples are very friendly, helpful, welcoming, and kind in nature. They have unique traditions, cultures, and heritage that are worth exploring. Langtang region is a beautiful part of the Himalayas, full of breathtaking mountains, glaciers, river valleys, rhododendron forests, and huge meadows.
Along the trail, you will come across many ancient stupas, monasteries, prayer flags, and Chortens. This trek goes beyond adventure and allows you to undine and rejuvenate. Experience the remote mountain lifestyle, have intimate interactions with the locals, and taste some of their traditional delicacies.
The trekking route goes through dense bamboo forests, freshly flowered rhododendron, oak forest & juniper, and divine lakes called Kunda. Likewise, you will witness cascading waterfalls and towering mountains like Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Gaurishankar, Dorje Lakpa, Gangchempo, etc.
The trek begins with a long, scenic ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. From here, the trail ascends & descends via beautiful villages like Gatlang, Tatopani, Thuman, and Briddim. Kyanjin Gompa is one of the most important religious places in the region. And Tserko Ri is the highest point of the trek. It takes you to 4,984 meters.
