Everest panorama trek with Gokyo lakes & Island peak climbing is one of the best adventure holiday packages in the Everest region, Nepal. This package combines two high mountain passes- Cho La and Kongma La. Along with that, you will explore the hidden Gokyo Lakes and climb Island Peak, known as Imja Tse in Nepal. During the trek, you will explore the famous Namche Bazaar and hike to Hotel Everest View. This day you will be received by our team agent representative. You will directly check into the booked hotel and plan for the coming trek with your team members at night over dinner.

On the 2nd day, you will fly to Lukla. This flight presents you with picturesque views of mountains and hills. After landing Lukla, you will trek to Phakding/ Monjo village through lush rhododendron forests, causing thrilling suspension bridges, enjoying verdant landscapes, including an excellent view of Mt. Kusum Kangraru.

After Phakding/Monjo village, you will follow the courses of the river ‘Dudh Koshi’ tailed with Himalayan pine, juniper, and cedar forests in Monjo Village. Then continues toward the Sagarmatha National Park area with the deep forests. The national park is home to 118 bird species and rare mammals. Here you will get the first peek at Mt. Everest. Before you enter this zone, taking a permit card is necessary. You will stop the hike upon reaching the Namche Bazaar.

It is your acclimatization day. To get used to mountainous weather and climate, you can explore the Namche area with a settlement of Sherpas, and visit the Khumjung monastery, Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center, Hillary Airport and school, Everest View Hotel, and local tea shops.

You will leave Namche Bazaar on this day and trek along the bank of the Bhote Koshi River. This trek goes by Thamo, Thamo Gompa, and Khumbu hydroelectric plant to the end of Khumbu Valley, Thame. On the way, you can see a unique mud-plastered stupa, various rhododendron flowers, and blue pine forests.

Trekking this day is from Thame to Longde. The trail passes by small villages with beautiful landscapes, vegetation, and vivid mountain views. The hike ascends to Marulung and ends at Longde.

Today you will cross the first pass of the route, ‘Renjo-la-pass’. The trails here could be icy and slippery. So, you should be extra cautious. Renjo- La pass greets the majestic glimpse of Mt. Everest (8,849 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m), and Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188 m). You will also catch sight of the third Gokyo Lake (among five in a tranquil atmosphere) known as Dudh Pokhari, where Gokyo village lies.

Acclimatization is a must as you ascend. So, on this day, you will climb the Gokyo Ri viewpoint. The viewpoint offers breathtaking scenery of Mount Everest and other surrounding mountains such as Makalu, Cho Oyu, Pumori, Nuptse, and many more. Gokyo Ri also helps to explore the alluring beauty of Thonak Tsho Lake and the Ngozuma Tsho Lake.

By any chance, if the climbing is affected due to weather conditions or other factors, as a plan B, you can roam valleys around the Gokyo village and surrounding lakes and overnight stay at Longde.

Now, you will trek forward to Thagnak from Gokyo. The hike here is slightly difficult as you walk on rocky paths through Ngozumpa Glacier, passing by several ups and downs. After you slip away towards the eastern glacial moraine and its enchanting scenery, you will arrive at the lodging place of the day, Thangnak.

The trail from Thangnak to Dzonglha is one of the highly challenging treks. This trek is through a rock-strewn path and the glacial moraine of Chola Pass. Chola-Pass is the second high pass route. It presents you with spectacular views of Mt. Everest and many others. After you descend for hours, you will reach Dzongla and stay overnight.

Dzonglha to Lobuche passes through majestic views of the Himalayan mountains. The trail follows the Imja Khola moraine and sinks to Chola Lake and Khumbu Valley via the main Everest Base Camp route.

On this day, you will cross the final pass among the three, Kongma-La. This pass offers magnificent views of mountains like Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Makalu, Baruntse, and Ama Dablam. It is considered the most challenging trail among the three passes. The trackway begins from Lobuche and ascends to Kongma-La. Then, it gradually descends to eastern Nigyang Khola Valley and into the Chukhung village. The remote pasture lands are perfect for yak herding, and you can see the Sherpa doing so.

Chukung village in the Khumbu region is widely known for its acclimatization point. You will spend a day here resting and exploring the surroundings. From here, you will get to enjoy the marvelous vistas of mountain ranges, including Mt. Everest, surrounding peaks, and glaciers. You can hike Chukung Ri as well.

After a night at Chukung, you move forward north of the valley, ascending to the higher elevation of Island Peak Base Camp. It is a short hike through the east of Lhotse Glacier via a small stream and big rock. After 40 minutes of walking from the big rock, you will get to Island Peak Base Camp.

The support team will set up tents for the night stay, you will get short training and briefing on peak climbing techniques, with climbing gear such as ice axes, climbing boots and crampons, harnesses, and ropes from the professional mountain guide.

This morning, you will set early for peak climbing to avoid the problematic afternoon wind. The mountain guide will lead the way that climbs through the rocky ridge and to the summit with the help of climbing ropes. The Island Peak top opens the remarkable views of Lhotse (27,890 feet), Makalu (27,805 feet), Island Peak (22,493 feet), and Baruntse (25,328 feet). You will enjoy the best moment of your life here. And retrace your way back to Chukung to stay for a night.

The weather and climate in the Himalayas are unpredictable. So, in case the summit could not be successful due to unfavorable conditions, you will head for the summit today. If the summit day was fruitful, you will stay at Chukung to relax and rest.

After enjoying a soulful day at Chukung, you will continue your journey further for Pangboche. This is a famous Sherpa village, where you will visit the ancient Pangboche monastery. The trail goes through Dingboche village and descends via a lush rhododendron forest.

From Pangboche, you will trek back to Namche Bazaar. That passes several Sherpa villages such as Tengboche and Phortse Tenga. The villages are picturesque and culturally rich. While you keep walking, you’ll come across dense forests of rhododendrons and pine trees. After crossing several suspension bridges over rivers and snow-capped peaks like Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kongde Ri, you will arrive at Namche Bazaar.

The final day of the trek takes you to the Lukla through the bank of the Dudh Koshi River. You will descend through various small villages, crossing the longest Hillary suspension bridge. And finally, to Lukla.

The flight generally is scheduled for the morning to avoid the adverse climate of the afternoon. After early morning breakfast, you will fly back to Kathmandu with the eye candy of white mountains and lush hills. The flight is more thrilling than the normal flights you have ever experienced.
